About
Me - I graduated from University of Nebraska as a Mechanical Engineer in 2019. The entirety of my career has been devoted to manufacturing from low automation to high automation facilities. The majority of my skills were honed during my time at Behlen Manufacturing where I started off as a Continuous Improvement Engineer. In that role, I spent much of my time troubleshooting automated specialty equipment, reverse engineering components and subassemblies, designing new components and subassemblies, and overhauling equipment. For those who are curious, some of the equipment I used to work on was manufactured by Haven Manufacturing, Innovo Corporation, Kent Corporation, roll formers by Bradbury and Samco, Schlatter, and more not listed. While at Behlen, I became a Licensed Professional Engineer and Registered Patent Agent.
My Product - A coworker and I started a business doing maintenance installations. I had a service body on my truck and wanted to put drawers in the compartments but was shocked by the pricing! After taking one look, I saw why. Drawer slides are not designed to handle the dynamic and vibrational loading encountered while driving down the road. The solution people had implemented was the age old one of throw more steel at it: The drawer slides rated for mobile applications had load capacities of 600lbs and cost around $150 per drawer. After some thought, I saw a solution. I needed to develop a toolbox where the weight of the drawers was transferred to the frame when the drawers were not in use. Two years, many prototypes, and a lot of sacrifices later, the results are on the home page.
